The town of Spruce Pine, population 2,500, is a community with a historic downtown as well as a commercial district. The historic downtown sits on the banks of the Toe River (with some of the best fishing in WNC), as well as an upper and lower street of shops, boutiques, art galleries, outfitters, and great restaurants.
The town is known as the Gem of the Mountains and has great gem mining for the family, the Museum of NC Minerals and the annual NC Mineral and Gem Festival.
The town also boasts a public golf course, an award winning hospital and is bordered by the Blue Ridge Parkway, America’s Scenic Byway. Just 3 miles to Little Switzerland and less than an hour to Asheville, Johnson City, TN and Boone, NC, Spruce Pine sits in the “center of it all”.
